Read Chapter One Here!

In a captivating novel of hockey and healing hearts, the newest member of the Nashville Assassins pulls a power play to make things right with the one that got away.

Fallon Parker’s dream has always been to turn her family’s wine company into a runaway success and eventually to start a cellar of her own. Since graduating from college, she has worked relentlessly to make that dream a reality, especially after taking a chance on love—and losing. By the time Fallon becomes an official sponsor of the Nashville Assassins, she feels like all her hard work is finally paying off. And then the man who broke her heart skates back into her life.

On the ice, Lucas Brooks is the NHL’s leading scorer—at least when he’s not in the box. Off the ice, he’s a mess, with all his anger and misery bottled up inside. He threw away the most important person in his life and has regretted it ever since. But when Lucas returns to Nashville in a trade, he’s determined to convince Fallon that he’s a changed man. The attraction is still there. The tension is electrifying. But the odds are stacked against them—especially after Lucas finds out that Fallon has been keeping a devastating secret.

Includes a special message from the editor, as well as excerpts from these Loveswept titles: Taking Shots, Empty Net, and Crossing the Line.

Reader Reviews

Lucas and Fallon. Fallon and Lucas.
No matter how you say the two names,
one thing remains the same – they were meant to be said together.

The tension between the two, along with the back and forth they do had me laughing until I cried. I loved it. Not only did this story line flow, but like the first book, Toni wrote this is such a way that each emotion portrayed by the characters just jumped out and pulled at your heart strings.
Get out your pom poms and get ready, because I have a feeling you will be rooting
for the two of them like there is no tomorrow!

This book made me want to have babies, it made me want more hockey and it made me want my boyfriend’s beard!!! Which is really surprising because aside form the hockey, the others I’m not always crazy for!!! The whole book its just beyond fantastic and amazing, it’s really one of the most amazing books I have read lately. And I have read Hunger Games!! Now Trying To Score and Hunger Games are epic on their own for amazing reasons!!! And of course it’s like trying to compare any book to Harry Potter. But without Hunger Games in the photo, Trying To Score is my favorite read of the year! Trying To Score is a book that was made just for me! I can’t wait to be able to have this book in paperback and be able to touch the words on the pages! I just want more!!
5/5 stars- Tater’s Tall Tails

Yes folks. I am starting out a review with a sigh.
Because 1) I can. And 2(I am in total and complete love with the second book in the Assassins series. I would be lying if I told you I wasn’t nervous as hell to pick up this book either. I was so enamored with Shea and Elli in Taking Shots I wasn’t sure I was going to be able to open up my heart to yet another Hockey stud muffin who was gunning for my heart. But alas, I was so very wrong. A little steamy, a little heartbreaking, and a whole lot of fanning yourself are in order this time around readers. Are your cheeks feeling a little pink yet? Get use to the feeling.

5/5 stars- Dreaming in the Pages

Lucas and Fallon’s story is very different than Elli and Shea’s. Toni did a great job of making the characters unique. I’ll be honest, it took me a while to warm up to Fallon. I could see why she did what she did, but she was a bit of a brat. Once she realizes her faults, I loved her! I love the name Fallon too. Neat name. I adore Lucas and want one of my own! His struggle with addiction and his determination to stay sober, was inspiring. I felt like he needed to go through the consequences of his addiction, so that he and Fallon could be a couple. Without giving anything away, you see how sensitive Lucas is and the relationship he develops with one of the characters made me melt! I love that he was so close to his mother and father too. The steam level was high and OH SO GOOD! Lucas and Fallon definitely have some serious sexual chemistry!

Oh and let me just say that when it rains now, I think of Lucas!

5/5 leaves (stars)The Autumn Review

To say that Lucas and Fallon have sexual chemistry is putting it mildly. Intense passion consumes these two. You know that when they finally get pushed to their breaking points and give into the burning desire it is going to be scorching hot.
Ms. Aleo does not disappoint in her ability to write steamy but sensual sex.

5/5 starsGuilty Pleasures

TRYING TO SCORE was a more enjoyable read than TAKING SHOTS, at least for me. I love a good “secret baby” story and the fact that he did the unthinkable while they were dating, well…that just made it all the better. I will say that there was a few scenes that could have been removed to make the book shorter, and it still would have been great. Some things can be said without reiterating it again and again, so I could have done with a little less of the same thing.
3/5 starsA Tasty Read

Character Bios

Fallon has a very sultry look to her. She is beautiful with deep caramel eyes and lush lips. She doesn’t have the look of an innocent sweet girl, she is a scorn woman, with a chip of her shoulder and I think this model brings out what I want in Fallon. When I saw this model on Pinterest, I didn’t hesitate in picking her for Fallon. She is stunning and fits Fallon perfectly.

Goodness me. I found this picture before I thought of Lucas Brooks. Lucas is much like this model, with the dark features and sexy hard body. He is what I see when I think of Lucas. I could just see Lucas looking at Fallon like that. He’s perfect! And hot!

Audrey is cooky and awesome. I just love her character in this book. She is a beauty with wide eyes and a lush mouth, just like her sister. I love how she has such long hair in this picture and how her eye lashes really bring out her eyes. I originally thought of Fallon like this, but then thought she look too young, so I decided to make it Audrey instead.

Levi is a meat head in a way. When I wrote him, I had Vinny from Jersey Shores in mind. Vinny is a nice looking man and Levi is too, so I thought Vinny was perfect with his short cut hair, and dark features. He is a good Levi.
